Edward Koehn was born in 1839. He studied from 1859 at the watchmaking school in Geneva. Then he started in 1895 as a simple watchmaker for Patek Philippe and after 15 years and was appointed director. In 1891, Edward Koehn retired from Patek Philippe and bought the H. Ekegren as chief of manufacture. When Ed Koehn left Patek, he set out to make a finer watch than Patek Philippe, and there is no little doubt that he was making one of the finest watches in the world. This elegant wrist watch was converted from antique pocket watch.
