Rare, very nice Elgin Marine Chronometer in gimbaled, 3-tier box. Keeps good time, and runs for full, 40 hours per the wind/reserve indicator dial. Hand-made key will lock / unlock the box. The movement is "lever set", requiring the bezel to be unscrewed, and a small lever adjacent the "2" extended, which allows the winding crown to adjust the time. Serial number dates watch to 1912, with 1000 made in that run.

Grade is 412, 18s, 21j, and adjusted to 3 positions. The "free sprung" movement is less common than other models and is hence more valuable.
