Rare 1860s Gutkaes Und Lange San Francisco Private Pocket Watch Movement #1992

  

Extremely rare Lange pocket watch movement from the 1850s or 1860s. Possibly the only with this private label in existance.

Currently the 48.8mm movement isn't working. Under the dial reads G & L. 1992 This watch movement reads Made to Order by E.

The neat part about this movement is that California has only become a state a few years before this watch had been made. It is also interesting that it must have traveled by train or horse to get to California possibly during the Gold Rush! Traveling by boat train and horse nearly 5,750 miles in the mid 1800s in amazing to me. The dial is plain and has hairlines.. I can not determine the state of the mainspring or the balance staff.

Honestly this piece has stories to tell and should be appreciated by someone possibly associated with Glaschütte Watch Company itself. Don't miss out on this one of a kind movement. It could really be a museum piece and it is time for me to pass it on to the next collector.
