A rare and unusual movement, not often seen. The movement is working, but has not been tested for time keeping due to missing hands. It winds fully and will run away for approx 28-30 hours without stopping. The dial does have hairline cracks around the very edge and there has been some repair work done to the sub dial which has gone a funny colour.Movement has a lever at 7 O Clock which when pulled will stop the pocket watch completely, when pushed back it will resume ticking. Features a diamond endstone on the balance cock and what looks to be solid gold balance screws on the balance wheel (unconfirmed). Under the dial has the initials J. JW could be John Wycherly of the Lancashire Watch Co? Unsure of maker, undoubtedly this was part of a solid gold case that at some time was melted down for scrap leaving the working movement behind for the watchmaker to use.
