Offered here is a Waltham 20 size Model 1860 (or 1862) Appleton Tracy Co grade 15j gilt KWKS Pocket Watch. The serial # of 200,113 puts this watch about February 1866, just after the end of the Civil War.The balance staff is not broken and it swings well and moves the pallet. The mainplates are still bright and even with some toning and spotting on the edges. All the screws look correct, the casing screw is missing. The dial is in great shape, there are edge chips and some scratches on it. This is not a typical 20s dial.
The roman numbers are shorter and bolder than what I used to seeing - made for the English market? The movement is housed in a nickel KWKS recase. The dust cover is missing.Front hinge a bit loose. Glass crystal with just a few scratches. These are not common watches.
Only a little over 2,000 were made. They are hard to find in any condition. This example is being offered for almost a tenth of that.
