My research indicates this verge fusee movement (circa 1800) was made by Henri Raiguel, the original senior founding partner of the Agassiz Watch Company that became the Longines Watch Company. This indicates that this could be the earliest movement that has a direct link to the history of Longines. The top of the movement is engraved. While stamped inside on the lower plate is.

Raiguel alone indicates that this movement was made by Henri Raiguel before he began a partnership with his brother-in-law Florian Morel before they began a partnership with Auguste Agassiz that ultimately becamLongines. Those who have followed my listings and history of my finding new caretakers for a large collection of early horological material, are aware that often unusual and historic pieces are turning up.
