ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER POCKET WATCH, heavy gent's watch verge movement 1816

  

It has a serial number on it: 3283 quite a low number! And the casing size 5cm in diameter, and on the inside of the cover shows the following hallmarks: the Lion Passant for Sterling silver, the Leopard head mark for the London Assay Office, leopard wearing a crown and therefore dating prior to 1822, date letter mark of'U' for 1815 and the initials of the casemaker'ID. The watch has a white enamelled dial, unsigned, with bold Roman hour chapter, closed minute ring with gilt brass English type Spade hands.

PLEASE note: The minute hand is broken, which happened as I took photos of the watch! This does not show on the pictures! The broken piece(half of the indicator) is still available and will be included. Movement: Key wound (I have no key available), jewelled, crown wheel (verge) escapement, chain driven fusee spring, slow/fast regulator on the back plate of the movement.

The plate is signed A. Condition: Hairline dial fracture at the 28 minute mark. Replaced crystal overlying the dial.
