The USAF was the US Army Air Corp USAAC and only part of the Army until June 1941 when the USAF was set up so its an early war air crew timer. This listing is for one of the most fascinating timepieces ever produced by Elgin, or any other watchmaker for that matter. Known as the "Bomber's timer, " this Type A-8 stop watch was made for US Air crews during WWII to assist in navigation and other tasks, such as measuring speed at high altitude (using landmarks below).
