Rare High Grade A Lange & Sohne. The serial # 1826 is the earliest I've ever seen. Its in great condition for its age and running strong! There may be only a handful that survived WW2 with this low a serial number.
Very hard to find any high end movements with a serial number under 2000, let alone a A Lange & Sohne! A Lange & Sohne is right there with Patek and Vacheron for quality and much more rare than most. This company was put out of business for 50 years after WW2. The black 24 hour military dial, signed A Lange & Sohne looks to be a much later addition, probably from the 1940s but I will let you decide. It has some scratches and a few nicks on the dial, but overall it's in good condition and im not sure how it is attached to the movement.
The hands are interesting with the red tips and the sub dial hand is gold in color. The watch winds nicely and is lever set.
A gentle push in on the lever and the hands move very well. The screw to hold it in the case is missing and it looks like the screw to hold the dial in place is also missing. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.
Look closely at the photos as they are part of the description. I will consider all reasonable offers for this fabulous watch!!
