The hairspring is also mounted to a piece attached to the plate in an unusual way and moves like suspension when the balance swings. One can only assume these unusual features were to improve time keeping accuracy and prevent issues from occuring should the watch be knocked or flailed about in a number of different positions in quick succession. Recommended that an expert restores this or it goes to a collector of fine pieces who really knows what they are doing in terms of restoration! Seems in very good cosmetic condition given its age, shame about the issues with it. Has been stored away in a collection for a very long time.
